Secret Lives | Dryad Secret Lives Series This sculpture features the nude torso of a woman. It's part of a forthcoming limited-edition series by Jordan Smith that celebrates the male and female form in handmade glass. Pale green glass is fused and slumped in a kiln using moulds taken from live models. Fine anatomical details are captured in the glass to reflect and refract light in interesting ways. Each piece is unique depending on how the glass melts and fuses as it is formed. Small imperfections such as air bubbles, gaps, and rough edges form part of the design. Each sculpture is fitted to a rough steel base that's finished in a dark patina and lacquer. |
